Game Concept
This will be a free-to-play game where the player takes control of an avatar and works to build a huge mansion.

Gameplay
The player will start in an empty lot where the tutorial will begin teaching the player the basics.

Welcome to Build a Mansion. In this tutorial you will be taught the basics of the game. First, let’s take a look at an example of a mansion you could build. [Avatar walks to a large Mansion next door.] It looks nice doesn’t it? [Yes or No prompts come up.]
[If player pushes Yes] I agree, and you, too, can build something like this, but first you need to start at the beginning. Here is your lot, this is where you are going to build your house. [The guide then starts going through the buttons and objectives with the player.]
[If the player says No there will be a series of questions that will lead to the following.] If you say No one more time I am going to disable the No button. Is that what you want? [Only comes up if player answers No.] Fine. From here on out all No buttons are removed. Would you like to hear all of that again? [Only Yes comes up.] Good. Would you like me to start at the beginning? [Only Yes comes up.] Wonderful. Would you like to hear my life story? [Only Yes comes up.] Perfect. Well, I was born in that Mansion that is right next door… [This will continue for 10 seconds and then the player will be guided through the buttons and objectives as a back-story to the narrator.]

Gameplay
– The player will use in-game currency to purchase rooms for his mansion, furniture, amenities, bills, services and other stuff to fill the mansion with.

– The player will have two options to get in-game currency: get a job and earn it as part of the game progression, or use real money to buy in-game currency via microtransactions.

– When a player begins the game he will have the option to choose from several low-paying jobs. Each job takes a set amount of time to complete (i.e 2 real-time hours). Once that time has passed the player will receive his pay. *Real-time will also cover building and upgrading the Mansion; the more costly the part, the longer it will take to finish constructing.

– Real-time events can be sped up by using credit from in-game credit cards. In other free-to-play games these are often represented by diamonds or gems. They can be earned but are much harder to come by than currency. In-game credits can also be bought with microtransactions.

– The player will level up as their house gets bigger over the course of play. When this happens the status of their job improves, and they will start earning more money.

– As the levels get higher the player will need to prepare for disasters and home invasions. Disasters could include things like fires, earthquakes, flooding, tornado, home repairs, infestations, and sink holes, etc.

– Home invasions happen when another player visits your home/mansion and tries to steal from you. To protect against these events, you would need an alarm system. If you have one, they won’t be able to steal anything, but the alarm will need time to reset after the invasion. If you don’t have one or if someone visits while your alarm is resetting, they can steal from you. The higher your level the more they can take. Theft will only result in the player losing in-game currency and not anything that was actually purchased for the house. There can be other ways to protect the house such as having a guard dog or adding other players as friends to help take care of the house; however, these methods are not as effective as the alarm system.

– When visiting another player’s house you can either try to steal from them or you can try to help them out with tasks such as maintaining the landscape or cleaning the inside of the house.

– Players will be able to gift items to their friends who play.

– There will be a daily bonus which will get bigger with each consecutive day the player logs in to play.
