Tear It Down

Game Concept
Take objects and buildings apart before the Builder is able to complete them.

Gameplay
– There are two characters in this game: the Builder (Non-Player), who is the villain, and the Disassembler (Player), who is the hero.

– The Builder is trying to build horrible objects and buildings that will do harm to innocent people. It is up to the Disassembler to tear these things down before they are completed.

– The buildings and objects can only be taken apart systematically. For example, a screw or nail needs to be removed before the brace can be taken off.

– Construction items in the game will consist of things like Nails, Screws, 2x4s (wood), Drywall, and Fabric.

– The game will be played on a touchscreen device and will be playable will one finger. The motion the Player does with his/her finger will be determined by what item he/she is removing. Examples: If the Player comes across a nail he/she will swipe front to back. If the Player comes across a screw he/she will make a counterclockwise circle. For drywall, the Player will tap the screen with his/her finger. For wood, the Player will slide his/her finger up and down in a sawing motion. Finally, for fabric, he/she will make a quick swipe across the screen. Drywall and fabric will need to be removed to reveal hidden items or more objects that will need to be disassembled.

– The Player will be taken through a story mode where each level is a different building or object. As the Player progresses through the game the buildings and objects will become more challenging to take apart. Each level is timed so the Player must make sure the Builder doesn’t complete his objective. The story will end when the Builder has been captured by the Disassembler and ends up in jail.

– There will also be an Endless mode. In this mode the Builder builds from the ground up and the Player tries to prevent him from reaching a predetermined height. Over time the Builder will get faster and continue to quicken until he has reached the top. The game will continue until the Builder reaches the top, at which time a score is provided to the Player. The score will be comprised of how long the Player survived and the total amount of points earned during the round.

– This game will also feature power-ups which will aid the Player throughout the levels. The power-ups are found randomly throughout the levels during gameplay. Once the Player touches the power-up it will activate in the current level.

– Power-ups will consist of items such as Magnets, Fire, Bombs, a Wrecking Ball, and a Slowdown Timer. Examples: The magnets will remove all nails and screws currently on the screen. The fire will destroy wood, drywall, and fabric. Once the Player activates the fire power-up the fire will travel from one burnable object to another, destroying them until there are no more connecting burnable objects left. The bomb will destroy all objects within the blast area. The wrecking ball will swing through the screen twice knocking away everything in its path. The slowdown timer will slow down the Builder so that the Player is able to catch up with him.
